Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) Policy
The Journal recognizes that generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) tools may support authors in language editing and content clarification. However, the integrity of scientific research requires that all scholarly work must remain fundamentally human-created, transparent, and fully accountable. This policy establishes ethical standards for the responsible use of GenAI throughout the submission, review, and publication process.
Use of GenAI by Authors
Authors may use GenAI tools only for limited technical assistance, including:
- Grammar correction and language polishing
- Improving clarity, readability, and structure of the manuscript
GenAI tools must NOT be used for:
- Writing original scientific content, including results, interpretations, or conclusions
- Generating data, figures, tables, or experimental results
- Performing analysis or simulations without independent validation
- Writing peer-review responses on behalf of authors
- Creating references or citations without verification
- Paraphrasing existing publications in a way that constitutes plagiarism
Disclosure Requirement
If GenAI tools have been used in any stage of manuscript preparation, authors must declare this in the Acknowledgment or a separate disclosure statement, specifying:
- The name of the tool(s) used
- The nature of assistance received
Example declaration:
“Generative AI tools were used solely for language editing and clarity improvement. All scientific content,
analysis, and conclusions were produced by the authors.”
Failure to disclose the use of GenAI may result in rejection or post-publication corrective action.
Authorship
GenAI tools cannot be listed as authors under any circumstance.
Authorship requires:
- Intellectual contribution
- Accountability for accuracy
- Approval of final content
Since AI systems cannot meet these responsibilities, they are ineligible for authorship credit.
Data and Image Integrity
Manuscripts must contain only real, verifiable data generated or obtained ethically by the authors. The
use of GenAI to fabricate, modify, or enhance data, results, images, or figures is considered research misconduct.
Image manipulation using AI technologies, beyond standard resolution adjustments, must not be performed.
Plagiarism and Ethical Compliance
All submissions are subject to plagiarism detection and content authenticity assessment.
Manuscripts derived substantially from AI-generated content, especially when presenting
fabricated or unverifiable information, will be rejected.
Any violation of this policy will be handled according to the Journal’s ethical standards and
COPE guidelines and may involve:
- Immediate rejection or retraction
- Notification to the authors' affiliated institutions
- Prohibition from future submissions
Peer Review and Editorial Use
Editors and reviewers may not upload manuscripts or associated materials to public AI systems due to confidentiality requirements.
AI tools may be used internally by the Editorial Office for:
- Administrative checks
- Language support suggestions
Final editorial decisions and peer reviews remain exclusively human responsibilities.
Accountability
Authors bear full responsibility for the integrity, originality, accuracy, and ethical compliance of all submitted content, regardless of whether GenAI tools were used for supplementary writing assistance.
Policy Updates
This policy will be updated periodically to align with evolving ethical standards, technological developments, and indexing database requirements.
Agreement
By submitting to the Journal, authors confirm that they have read and comply fully with this Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) Policy.
